SystemicLogic

SystemicLogic is made up of a research institute, and a consulting and contracting division. The company operates internationally. SL seeks to bring research done in academia and needs of business closer together. The idea is to build community where there is mutual interchange of knowledge. A problem is time scale – business often looks for quick answers, academia prefers longer term research. He saw parallels between Systemic Logic’s portal and the IITB transfer of knowledge processes. He noted a contrast between South African and Australian managers in personally using the Internet – the Australians tend to be more willing. SL help frame research topics for Masters’ candidates, which are relevant for business. SL has 17 different practices – covering diverse but interlinked foci e.g. IT architecture, process engineering. The company is interested in research relating to community uses of ICT.
